I am Rick Gilsing, working as a consultant and researcher in the domain of collaborative business models at TNO Vector.

I have a background in Industrial Engineering and Innovation Management. In addition, I have conducted a PhD on the topic of designing and evaluating networked business models. Within TNO, I typically focus on the exploration and analysis of collaborative business models to support the realization of technological or societal innovations in practice.

To be able to do so, I generally work together with a diverse set of stakeholders and disciplines, which may be positioned both internal as well as external to TNO. The characteristics of the project determine the context, type of innovation, and stakeholders that will be involved. However, the objective remains the same: to identify how a sustainable collaboration between stakeholders can be achieved, in which mutual value for each stakeholder involved is created.

I truly appreciate the multidisciplinary nature of my work, in which I act as a bridge between business and technology, but in which I am also allowed to learn about new technological innovations or solutions. Additionally, working on new business models means I can contribute to the realization of new innovations in practice. As a result, I can work towards supporting complex challenges faced by society, such as the energy or sustainability transition.
