Chris van der Valk
At TNO Vector, I develop new partnerships and build further upon existing ones for a more sustainable, livable and resilient society. Together with my excellent team of researchers, consultants and project managers – at TNO Vector and TNO-wide – I address societal challenges mainly from three areas of expertise: economics, governance and spatial use. To get to well-balanced integral solutions, we mostly combine these knowledge areas and even connect them to others like digitalization.
Currently our main partners include several ministries, the European Commission, provinces, regions and many of the larger municipalities in The Netherlands. Before joining TNO in 2019, I worked for over ten years for the development of public administration internationally in among others the Caribbean, North-Africa and the Middle East, and South-East Asia. It motivates me to get to know the challenges of our partners and linking them to the passions and knowledge of colleagues at TNO. This way I aim to contribute to the major societal challenges of today.
