Roel Nagy

I am Roel Nagy, economic researcher at TNO Vector since November 2024. I also hold a voluntary postdoctoral researcher position in the Environmental Economics research group at University of Antwerp.
Before joining TNO, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at University of Antwerp. I mainly worked on a societal cost benefit analysis of tunneling the Antwerp Ringroad. In the summer of 2023, I successfully defended my PhD in investment under uncertainty at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). My PhD research focused on the effect of policy risk on investment in renewable energy, and its effect on welfare.
At TNO, I work on the development of macroeconomic models and analysis of energy markets. While accounting for the economic and financial dynamics of markets and investments, I also like to take a broader perspective and focus on tangible, personal aspects behind the numbers.
I aim to make a meaningful impact by contributing to the development of sustainable and resilient economic systems that not only foster growth but also ensure environmental and social well-being. I aspire to create solutions that are both innovative and practical, enhancing the quality of life for individuals and communities.
