Mirella Schrijvers

My name is Mirella Schrijvers and I work as a researcher in entrepreneurship and innovation at TNO Vector. I specialize in ecosystems, including the monitoring and mapping of these systems. I also work on questions related to how entrepreneurs can contribute to societal challenges.

My expertise lies in the area of regional ecosystems for entrepreneurship and innovation. During my PhD at Utrecht University, I developed an index for measuring the quality of ecosystems in European regions. I then developed a similar index for the United States during a postdoc at the Technical University of Munich.

I enjoy using my knowledge to help policymakers and other stakeholders develop ecosystems based on insights from quantitative analyses. I am also interested in the societal impact of entrepreneurs and want to contribute with my research to strengthening it.

I have a background in policy economics (Paris School of Economics, Master's) and development economics (University of Oxford, MSc). I also worked for a year as a consultant at Technopolis, where I performed various evaluations of innovation and entrepreneurship policy.
