I am Mechteld Bakkenes, a consultant at TNO Vector. With a background in Mechanical Engineering (BSc) and Management of Technology (MSc) from Delft University of Technology, I focus on how technology and data can help address complex societal and organizational challenges.
At TNO Vector, I work on supply chain analyses of strategic raw materials and key technologies, contributing to projects that strengthen the strategic autonomy of the Netherlands and Europe. My work explores economic resilience and technological dependencies, using both qualitative and quantitative methods to uncover actionable insights. I enjoy turning complex challenges into clear, practical outcomes — through data analysis, visual storytelling, or strategic framing.
I’m energized by working on societal transitions that demand both analytical depth and close collaboration. My aim is to support informed decision-making and contribute to a future-proof economy where technological and societal innovation go hand in hand.
